My quickie lunchtime workout played out like this.....
20 minute cardio based on Body for Life 20 Minute Aerobic Solution
4 rounds 4 minute runs... starting running at 5 intensity (out of ten) and ending at 10 intensity. Not a true 10 intensity but a hard slugging run that I can safely do on a treadmill without losing balance. A real sprint is hard to maintain for a minute, if I did this workout outside I could do a full sprint without feeling wary....
Just to explain how the intervals go:
Minute 1 - 50% intensity
Minute 2 - 60 - 70% intensity
Minute 3- 80 %
Minute 4 - 100% intensity
1 minute walk break
Repeat 4 times
After this I did
20 air squats
10 push ups
20 air squats
10 push ups
25 lunges
.... This wasn't as much of a workout as I'd like. Not really a 5k distance which is my usual benchmark, but I felt pretty guilty for not having exercised since this past Tuesday and really just wanted to get in a workout. I knew that aiming for Friday night was unlikely to happen and the weekends tend to be hit or miss for me. So at least I got in there and continued the momentum for today.
